Window Blind Choices

Remote Control Shades

Remote Control Shades Make Life Easier

There was a time when the only way you could darken a room was to use traditional curtains. then along came window blinds, and a whole new way of adding a design element to the room was introduced. But one of the biggest jumps in technology has been the introduction of remote control shades, since they gave an element of control to the amount of light coming into the room that has never been seen before, and all this done from any area of the room. This article will take a look at some of the various sizes and styles of remote control blinds and some considerations and that need to be borne in mind.

One of the first things you need to decide is the size of window that you need to cover. If you have a set of small windows it is possible to find some remote-controlled miniblinds which can be one of the best choices for this style. These are usually available in aluminum, wood, and vinyl, giving you a wide range of choices, and also colors, which can be anything from the muted right through to the vibrant such as red and yellow.

If the windows are wider, especially things such as a patio window, you may meet to look at some of the specialist in Venetian blinds. Roller blinds can add a great piece of design, since they are available in many different pattern prints, and also in many colors. Venetian blinds usually do not come into any particular pattern, though there is a wide range of colors available, and for those who like the traditional look, wood patterned blinds could be a good choice..

Custom window coverings

If you have a very large window, or perhaps a set of small windows, then you may need to order some custom window shades, and if you want the remote-controlled option this could be quite expensive. However, if you do have a custom design made you will be certain that it will fit the window exactly and give you the best window covering you could hope for. The good news is that most remote control blinds have a standard remote control unit, which can be bought from suppliers in case you old unit ever breaks down. This means that even a custom design can usually be furnished with a new remote control unit.

Vertical blinds can also come with a remote control option, and if you're looking at this as an option you need to make sure that the vertical blinds style fits in with your particular window. For most people horizontal blinds are the things they choose, especially since these are available in a sheer lined style.

Polyester shades

For a stylish addition to a home , try remote controlled honeycomb shades. These are often in white polyester, with a standard size of 36" x 64", and provide heat insulation. For a heavier feel, Hunter Douglas Lightlines aluminum blinds could be just the thing, blocking out unwanted light easily.

Of course, remote control shades prices will vary, and this will depend on the style of blinds and the company you buy them from. Hunter Douglas shades are a very popular make, and by choosing a well-known brand you're almost certain to be satisfied. Another popular style is the aluminium window shades produced by V2K. But whichever one you choose, make sure that you get the best possible quality you can afford, because remote control units need to be of good quality to enable them to function effectively for a long period of time.

The best thing about this kind of shade is that you can keep the light level at the same level very easily, something which is very important if you have a day when the sunlight varies in intensity. There's nothing worse than having to keep getting up from your chair to change the window shades just because the sun is coming for a few minutes behind some clouds. With remote control window blinds you just need to press a button and the work is done for you. An excellent idea!

Remote controlled blinds are a great idea, especially for lounge that has really large patio windows because sometimes the light level really does become too harsh and you need to be able to change it easily. I've got some great ideas from this article and now I just need to convince my wife that we should spend the money on getting some remote control shades!

I am not a particularly lazy person, but the idea of being able to control the level of light in the room without even getting up from the armchair is one I really like. This is especially a good idea in since I like to watch TV during the day and sometimes the light in the room makes it very difficult to see the screen properly. Now I'm going to go take a look at what is available in this type of window blind!
