Patio Door Blinds

The Right Shade For The Patio Doors

For many people the patio is one of the most important parts of the house, because it is where they spend the time during the warm summer days and nights. However, there can be a problem in that the patio windows can sometimes let in far too much sunlight and make a room to hot. The good news is that there's a simple solution, and in order to keep the room temperature down, and protect it from harsh sunlight, all that is often needed is a good set of patio door blinds. These usually use a simple window blind mechanism in order to open and close them, which means it is very easy to get privacy because all you need to do is simply unlock the cord and drop the blind into place.

There are now a wide range of patio blinds available on the market, and it is almost certainly possible to find a color that will suit the decoration that you have in place already. There are also a great variation in sizes, including miniblinds which can be used for small window coverings or small doors that may be part of a larger patio window installation. Outdoor patio shades are now being used as many people require privacy to the patio or the living room that has access to the patio, but the shades also add a great element of design, especially by using natural materials such as bamboo, which can give a really great oriental look, or more specifically a Japanese feel to your living space.

The prices of patio door blinds will vary depending on the materials you use and the quality you choose. Cheap patio blinds are available, though it is usually not a good idea to go for the very cheap option as you may find these will be of low-quality, and may not give you the protection from the sun that you desire.

Large window coverings

For a larger blind, consider the 20" x 64" door blind from ODL. Costing about $117.00 these fit over flush or raised door glass. These include top stacking mini blinds or bottom stacking cellular shades. These fit widths of 21"- 22" and heights of 66". These are adjustable blinds which can be raised, lowered and tilted easily. For a ribbed vertical blind suitable for patio doors, take a look at offerings from Bed Bath and Home, a blind also suitable for wide windows, providing privacy and good room darkening.

These are easy-to-clean vinyl vertical blinds with a "childproof wand" for adjusting the light. The head rail is reversible for left or right one-way draw. Colors include white and alabaster. If an insulation blind is needed, consider the thermal pinch pleated curtain drape from Nicole, a floral Jacquard drape with foam thermal backing in 100% polyester with excellent room-darkening capabilities.

The custom cover option

You can go for a custom line option, though you will need to spend far more money on this, because obviously this will entail a designer having to visit your property to take measurements and make sure that the blinds fit the window properly. However, in many cases this can be the best option, because not only will it ensure your the blinds have a good fit, but will also enable the blind to be designed to suit the room itself, something which can be very important.

But if you want to go for the simple standard door blind, you cannot get better than searching on the web to look at the various styles that are available. It is often possible to get some really good discount deals doing it this way, which means you not only get some great looking window blinds but also save some money as well.

I like the idea of fabric vertical blinds on the patio door because I think it will add a really nice pattern as the daylight comes through the strips. I am taking a look at a lot of the ideas on this site and hoping to make a really great decision to make my room look wonderful.

The room getting too hot was a problem in my place as well until I bought some really nice bamboo door blinds. Now I am looking at buying some more patio blinds for the doors in my kitchen because I want to get the same effect in there as well.
